The annual Chicago Palestine Film Festival runs from 20 April until 2 May, bringing intimate and enlightening perspectives of the Palestinian experience

The 12th edition of the annual Chicago Palestine Film Festival opened on 20 April and will continue until 2 May with screenings taking place at two venues: the Gene Siskel Film Centre and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
The event is the world's longest running festival dedicated solely to showcasing stories from the Palestinian territories and Palestinian filmmakers to large audiences.
According to the festival organisers, every year, the festival strives to bring together films about Palestine that engage, enlighten and entertain the audiences, leaving them inspired.
The line-up of this year's Chicago Palestine Film Festival includes: Nation Estate by Larissa Sansour (2012); When I Saw You (Lamma Shoftak) by Annemarie Jacir (2012); Uncle Nashaat (Ammo Nashaat) by Aseel Mansour (2011); Haneen by Ossama Bewardi (2011) and Gaza Tunnels to Nowhere by Miriam Abu Sharkh, among many other new movies.
