Egypt and Ahly playmaker Mohamed Abou-Treika has rebuffed speculation that he might hang up his boots after his club won the African Champions League on Saturday. The veteran schemer confirmed that he intends to carry on until the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. “I have no intentions of quitting right now,” Abou-Treika told Egyptian radio after Ahly defeated Tunisia's Esperance 2-1 “I have a dream of playing in the World Cup. We are closing on it now and I hope I can play among the world's elites in Brazil,” he added. Former Egypt coach Hassan Shehata, who has close ties to the gifted Ahly man, has speculated that Abou-Treika may draw curtains on his career after the final. Abou-Treika, who is shortlisted for CAF's best African-based player award, came on as a second half substitute but failed to make an impact as he missed a penalty kick late in the game. “I will now turn the Champions League page and focus on the Club World Cup in Japan,” Abou-Treika concluded.
