Egyptian national team manager Bob Bradley has called on Egyptian Football Association (EFA) chairman Gamal Allam to resume domestic competitions. "Bradley has met with Mr Allam to organise a comprehensive plan for the national team's preparations for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, agreeing to play as many friendly games as possible," the Pharaohs' assistant coach Dia'a El-Sayed told Ahram Sports. The winners of three successive African Cup of Nations trophies have just finished their training camp in the UAE, during which they beat DR Congo 3-0 and lost against Tunisia 1-0 in friendlies. "Bradley is still hoping domestic competitions resume because this would be the best way to prepare new players for joining the national team," former Egypt U-20 coach El-Sayed added. Egypt will not play any competitive games until March of next year, when they will host Zimbabwe in a World Cup qualifier. The new league season was due to kick-off on Wednesday, but the EFA – citing a lack of response from the interior ministry – said it would not be able to hold the competition. All domestic football activity has been suspended since last February, when scores of spectators died in clashes between rival fans in Port Said stadium.
