Ailing Cairo giants Zamalek have signed 19-year-old playmaker Ibrahim Hassan from Future Stars Academy on a season-long loan, the club said on Tuesday. Zamalek land Hassan with a view to making the move permanent at the end of the season, the club's assistant coach Osama Nabih said. “Manager Jorvan Vieira said he needed the player after watching him in action in a friendly game before Sunday's Cairo derby,” former Zamalek striker Nabih told the club's official website. “We can sign him without sticking to the Egyptian FA's registration period because he will be registered as a youth player.” Zamalek have struggled for creativity since offloading star winger Mahmoud Abdel-Razek ‘Shikabala', who joined United Arab Emirates side Al-Wasl on loan. Attacking midfielder Eslam Awad is yet to impress while 20-year-old playmaker Mohamed Ibrahim has recently shown flashes of his talent, having scored Zamalek's sole goal in the 1-1 African Champions League draw with Ahly after a fine individual effort. The club will be looking to end a drought stretching back to 2004 when they begin their new Egyptian Premier League campaign next month.
