Mali coach Amadou Pathé Diallo has insisted that his team's chances to reach the 2014 World Cup finals were revived after Sunday's 2-1 win over Algeria in the second round of the qualifiers.
After the end of the second qualifying round, Algeria and Mali share the second place in Group H with three points each.
Benin, who defeated Mali 1-0 in the first round, is on top of the group with four points while Rwanda closeswith just one point gained from their draw with the Squirrels last Sunday.
"The game was not easy and they managed to score early but we recovered quickly as we were determined to win," Diallo was quoted as saying by Algerian newspaper El-Khabar on Tuesday.
"We got three precious points and our chances to proceed are now revived.Neither Algeria and Benin are easy rivals and I think the competition will be tough until the last round of the qualifiers.
"I am sticking with my job with my national team. Even if the football Association decided to appoint a foreign manager, I will be available to help him if they want," the coach also said.
Earlier on Sunday, Algeria coach Vahid Halilhodzic talked about his disappointment after his team's loss against Mali insisting that the Desert Foxes' could have done better at the match.
