Egyptian taekwondo fighter Abdel Rahman Wael Mahmoud defeated on Sunday Javier Perez of Spain 22-00 in Round of 16 to reach the quarter finals of the -68kg event. 25-year-old Mahmoud won 6-2, 0-7 and 16-11 against Perez who won the European championship in 2019 and the silver medal of the World Championship in the same year. The Egyptian fighter will face Nedzad Husic of Bosnia in the quarter finals at 7:26 Cairo time (GMT+2). 2021 European Championship silver medalist Husic beat Ricardo Suzuki of Japan 22-2 in only two rounds.
