Egypt's superstar Sherihan 'thrilled' for anticipated return with Coco Channel
Published in Ahram Online on 11 - 07 - 2021

Egyptian longtime superstar Sherihan has expressed excitement over her anticipated return with televised musical "Coco Chanel" premiering next week.
"On the theatre's stage, I found my [real] self, in pleasing people. I am thrilled to be with you on 20 July," the 56-year-old actress stated on social media this weekend.
Coco Chanel, based on the life story of the iconic French fashion designer, is scheduled to screen on Saudi platform Shahid, during the Muslim's feast of Eid Al-Adha season.
"Art has a house... Its address is theatre and it's my home," she stated earlier, urging fans to watch the show.
Almost two decades after the popular artist announced retirement, Sherihan hugely caught attention in the Ramadan season with a neat appearance in a big-spending advertisement campaign for a mega telecom company. Topping trends, she proved her singing and dancing are still very appealing to various generations of viewers in Egypt and the Arab world.
Produced by Al-Adl Group, under sponsorship of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority, Coco Chanel is written by acclaimed Medhat Al-Adl, and directed by multi-awarded Hadi El Bagory, of Al-Deif 'The Guest' and Hepta.
Sherihan, who was being featured with the top legends since early childhood, made a fine legacy of important films, TV series and theatre plays, as well as multiple seasons of TV show 'Fawazeer', showing attractive skills in acting, singing and dancing.
An idol in Arabic musical theatre, Sherihan accompanied icon Farid Shawky in the pair's last hit play "Sharea Mohammed Ali" (Mohammed Ali Street) in early 90s, a few years after starring with legend Fouad El-Mohandes in another hit; 'Alashan Khater Eyunek' ("For Your Eyes' Sake"). Both plays became among the top classics of Arab theatre in TV, in addition to her appearance in previous important classics like El-Mohandes' 'Sokk 'Ala Banatak', and 'Enta Horr' with Mohamed Sobhy.
MBC's Shahid VIP, a subscription-based premium service who provides a big collection of Egyptian production, had exclusively premiered the last play of megastar Adel Imam 'Bodyguard' in February.
