Zamalek will take on Morocco's Maghreb Fes in the first leg of the CAF Champions League round of 16 on Saturday. Maghreb Fes secured passage to the third knockout round after crushing Horoya of Guinea 4-1 on aggregate, while Zamalek booked its place after qualifying on the away goals rule. Zamalek coach Hassan Shehata will have to do without first choice goalkeeper Abdel-Wahed El-Sayed who is suspended and second choice goalie Mahmoud Abdel-Rehim "Genish" who is injured. Under the helm of Rachid Taoussi, the Moroccan side are eager to continue their recent success after winning the 2011 CAF Confederation Cup and the 2012 CAF Super Cup. Zamalek, which won the last of its five Champions League triumphs in 2002, suffered a disruption to its preparation for the African showdown as all football competitions in Egypt have been suspended since the Port Said disaster on 1 February.
