Malian side Stade Malien have set up a showdown against Ahly in the 16th round of the CAF Champions League after smashing Tonnerre of Benin 5-2 in the second leg of the 32nd round on aggregate. Ahly went through following 3-0 win over Ethiopian Coffee early last week. "We are waiting for the return of Mohamed Yusif (Ahly's assistant coach) from Mali to discuss his report about the opponents," Ahly football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz was quoted as saying on the club's official site on Sunday. Ahly sent their assistant coach Mohamed Yousif to scout the Mali's side in their game against Tonnerre of Benin on Saturday. The Red Devils are scheduled to face Stade Malien on 27, 28 or 29 April in the first leg of the 16th round of the CAF Champions League in Mali, as the second leg will be held in Cairo two weeks later. "We consider playing a friendly before the 16th round of African Champions League game," Abdel-Hafiz added. "The technical manager will study the foes well making use of the report that will be revealed by Yusif who was scouting them in their last game."
