Ghana's coach looks for Kevin-Boateng's return Black Stars' new coach Kwesi Appiah aims to coax former player Kevin-Prince Boateng's back to the Ghanaian national team
Ghana's coach Kwesi Appiah said Monday he will begin talks with retired footballer Kevin-Prince Boateng in order to convince him to return to the Black Stars. The AC Milan midfielder quit the Ghanaian national football team last November citing physical reasons. The 24-year-old player declared that playing for club and country at the same time was very difficult for him. However, it was rumored that Boateng had clashed with former Black Stars coach Goran Stevanovic. "It is been difficult talking to Boateng directly but I have succeeded in making some significant contacts," Appiah was quoted as saying by Ghanasoccer.net. "I intend to fly out to Milan pretty shortly to talk to him and to assure him of his importance to the team," he concluded. Kwesi Appiah was named Ghana coach on 10 April after the Serbian Goran Stevanovic had been fired following Ghana's disappointing fourth place in the last African Cup of Nations.
