Zamalek manager Christian Gross admitted that his side committed too many defensive mistakes that ultimately saw them lose 4-2 at Kenya's Gor Mahia in their opening group stage game of the African Confederation Cup on Sunday. Gor Mahia created chances at will to secure a stunning win, thanks a double from Jacques Tuyisenge and goals from Nicholas Kipkirui and Dennis Oliech. "The Players made many bizarre mistakes during the game, which was the main reason for our defeat," Swiss coach Gross told the post-match news conference. "We made a good start and opened the scoring but we failed to maintain our lead." The Swiss coach called on his players to quickly pick themselves up and focus on the upcoming Egyptian Premier League game against Nogoom on Saturday. Promoted Nogoom are the only side to have defeated leaders Zamalek in the league this season. "Nogoom clash is very important for us. We will immediately prepare for this game," Gross added.
