Zamalek president Mortada Mansour announced on Thursday that coach Nebojsa Jovovic has resigned from his post, few minutes after the Cairo giants loss to Ismaily 1-0 in an Egyptian league game. "Jovovic resigned from his post," Mansour told aTV program on Thursday. According to the club president, Farouq Gaafar chief of the technical committee in the club will name the new technical staff on Friday. Former Pharaohs coach Hassan Shehata is among the candidates for the current vacancy. Montenegrin coach Nebojsa Jovovic signed a two-year contract with Zamalek last August, few days before the season's Kick off. Jovovic caught the attention of Zamalek when he helped Jordan's Faisaly to reach the Arab Championship final with a remarkable campaign that saw his side defeat Egypt's famed club Ahly twice. Despite his successful spell at Faisaly the 42-year-old failed to impress with Zamalek as the Cairo giants claimed only five wins in 12 games.
