Coach Jovovic to stick with Zamalek, takes full responsibility for poor run
Published in Ahram Online on 04 - 12 - 2017

Zamalek coach Nebojsa Jovovic has quashed recent rumors that he intends to leave his post, adding that he takes full responsibility for the club's poor results this season.
"I don't think of leaving my job at all. These are just rumors," the 43-year old coach was quoted as saying by the club's official website on Monday.
Jovovic's future at Zamalek became uncertain recently after the team's shaky start to the season left them fourth in the league's table with 19 points from 11 games.
Sunday's resignation of Medhat Abdel-Hady and Hussein El-Sayed from Zamalek's coaching staff came to further aggravate the matter.
"I took charge of Zamalek to succeed and achieve titles and I am sticking with my dream of writing my own history with the club," added Jovovic, who is also the former coach of Kuwait's Kazma and Jordan's Al-Faisaly.
On Saturday, Zamalek chairman Mortada Mansour announced new faces in the coaching staff as former player Nabil Mahmoud will be the new assistant coach while Ayman Hafez, who has a strong character, will be the football director.
Jovovic signed a two-year contract with Zamalek On 28 August, but he wasn't lucky enough to get a perfect start as the team won in five matches only, drawing four times and losing the two reaming matches.
The Whites were dealt a heavy 3-1 loss to rivals Maqassa before holding to a 1-1 draw against Rajaa in the last two league matches.
"I am the one who takes full responsibility of the team's results as I realize well that the coach is always responsible of everything," the coach explained.
"I won't find justifications for our faults. I am looking forward to make up for the bad results," he concluded.
Ahead of Nebojsa's appointment, Zamalek have had 15 coaches since the election of current President Mansour in 2014, including Mido, Hossam Hassan, Portuguese Jesualdo Ferreira and Scotsman Alex McLeish.
