Egypt's Army Chief of Staff Mahmoud Hegazi met on Wednesday with US Army Central Commander Michael Garrett to discuss developments in the region and a number of issues of common interest in light of military cooperation between the two countries. The two commanders agreed on the necessity of enhancing the exchange of technical capabilities and expertise between the two countries' armies in various fields. Hegazi stressed the importance of military partnership and cooperation and coordination to achieve security and stability in the region. Garett stressed the importance of comprehensive cooperation with the Egyptian Armed Forces, expressing his appreciation for the ongoing organisation between both militaries. The meeting was attended by a number of Egyptian Armed Forces commanders and a US military delegation.
