Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi is considering giving a call to Birmingham striker Yakubu Ayegbeni and Montpellier's John Utaka, who have impressed over the past few weeks. "John Utaka has been a very good player, an outstanding player with great quality. You just have to know how to use him," Keshi was quoted as saying on Kickoff.com website. Ayegbeni has just scored a brace against Wigan while Utaka hit his top form in the French Ligue 1. "I am not surprised about his (Utaka's) performance. I know him, just like Yakubu. These are people that have a lot of experience that we can use in the Nigeria team to make us better,” the Nigerian coach added. "If you play them in the right position and make them believe they are among the best players in the world, they will give you everything. "They are Nigerians and if they are performing well, I don't see any reason why I shouldn't invite them," he concluded. Both players have been permanent features in the Super Eagles squad but were dropped for the squad since the 2010 World Cup disappointing campaign. Utaka, 29, has been an unused substitute during the World Cup while Yakubu is mostly remembered with an awful miss from inside the six yards against South Korea 2-2. Nigeria finished at the bottom of the group with just a single point.
