Zamalek sign two Egypt-based foreign strikers

Egyptian football club Zamalek unveiled Wednesday the signing of two foreign forwards: Ghana's Benjamin Acheampong and Kabongo Kasongo of DR Congo.
"The new deals have been made after coordination with the technical staff and football experts at the club. Many clubs in Egypt were targeting the duo before Zamalek won the deal," the club's chairman, Mortada Mansour, said in a press conference held at the club's headquarters.
Acheampong, a 27-year-old striker from Ghana, played for Egyptian outfit El-Dakhleya. He has experience playing in Africa with Atlético Petróleos de Luanda in Angola and Asante Kotoko in Ghana, before playing in the Egyptian league.
"I am very happy to be with Zamalek playing beside many good players," the former star of Jordan's Al-Aqaba, Acheampong, told the presser, thanking the club's board.
"Having Kasongo playing next to me will strengthen the squad and make the team very powerful," Acheampong added.
The former forward of Guinean club AS Kaloum Star, Kasongo, 22, moved from Egyptian club Ittihad of Alexandria. He is a young promising forward who scored in almost half of the appearances he made this season with the coastal club.
