“Mother and baby are doing well. We are so overjoyed,” the Egyptian international said on Dortmund's official website. “I was present at the birth. It was an incredible moment when I held Adam in my arms for the first time.” Zidan's first child, Adam, could follow in the footsteps of his father and play for current German Bundesliga leaders, Dortmund. “Adam is a real Dortmund boy. I will register him as a member of BVB in the next couple of days,” the 29-year-old added. “And I hope that in a few years he will also be playing for Borussia Dortmund's youth teams.” Zidan, whose engagement to Egyptian actress Mai Ezz El-Din broke off in late 2009, has yet to make his first league appearance this season, despite recovering from a serious knee injury he picked up last April. He made his long-awaited comeback in Dortmund's 3-0 Europa League victory over Ukrainian side, Karpaty Lviv earlier this month. Zidan was left out of the team's squad for Saturday's league game away to Eintracht Frankfurt upon his own request. “I want to spend the time with my child and my girlfriend,” the former Hamburg, Werder Bremen and Mainz man said.
