Zidan celebrates Bundesliga title in Milan, postpones Ahly's move Egypt and Dortmund striker Mohamed Zidan celebrates being the first Egyptian to win the Bundesliga title in Milan, postpones Ahly interest for next season
After winning his first major title in Europe, Egypt's striker Mohamed Zidan has confirmed that he is proud of helping his German club Borussia Dortmund win the Bundesliga title for the first time since 2002. The BVB Saturday's 2-0 home victory over Nuremberg made them clinch the title, before two remaining rounds, as they have 72 points, 8 ahead of their runner-ups Bayer Leverkusen, whose away defeat at Cologne ended their challenge. “This is the best day in my life,” the international player was quoted as saying on his official website. “I will be proud forever for this great achievement. I want to dedicate it to my son Adam, my family and all people in Egypt,” the 29-year old hitman added. The Pharaohs star has recently expressed his desire of joining Egypt's Ahly in the future, which was welcomed by the Cairo giants' Portuguese coach Manuel Jose Da Silva. Now, the former Hamburger SV star is targeting playing in the Champions League before playing with Red devils. “As I confirmed before, I will play for Ahly when I decide to return to Egypt but this will not be this season,” the player, who celebrated the title in the pitch with his 4-month son Adam, explained. “I am obliged with my current contract with Dortmund that runs until the end of next season. I want to remain with them as I have a golden chance to play with them in the European Champions League next season,” he added. The two-time African cup of nations champion has left for Milan in Italy with his wife and son Adam on a three-day vacation to celebrate with his friend, Ghanaian midfielder, Kevin-Prince Boateng, who currently plays for Serie A club Milan.
