Members of Libya's opposition National Transitional Council (NTC) announced their wish to recruit Egyptian teachers before the coming school year in a meeting with Prime Minister Essam Sharaf, stated Egyptian officials. The meeting was held to discuss the future of Egyptian-Libyan relations in the context of Muammer Gaddafi's ousted regime. No further details were announced about the new recruitments after yesterday's meeting in Cairo. However, Egyptian officials are very optimistic that the hundreds of thousands of Egyptian workers in Libyawho had to flee the country during the civil war will soon return. Sharaf met with Mahmoud Jibril, the chairman of the executive board of the NTC, Abdel Rahman Shalgham, former Libyan minister of foreign affairs and Abdel Rahman El-Howny, the representative of the NTC in Cairo, along other members of the council. The prime minister congratulated the Libyan people and the members of the NTC and made it clear that Egypt gives all kinds of support to Libya, including health, construction, energy, security and education. For their part, the members of the NTC asked for Egypt's support in the education sector; especially, as the new year will start soon in Libya and there is a need for Egyptian teachers. NTC members also expressed their wish to benefit from Egypt's legislative experience in the upcoming period The two parties agreed to hold seminars and lectures for Egyptian, Libyan and Tunisian youth in order to better understand their vision for the future.
