El-Hadary: I did not say 'No more Merreikh' Egypt goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary has quashed rumours that he will quit Sudanese side Al-Merreikh this summer
Egypt and Al-Merreikh goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary revealed on his official website that he is not behind the announcement attributed to him that he will quit the Sudanese side this summer. “I know nothing about quitting Al-Merriekh this season,” read a statement on the shot-stopper's website. “I didn't announce no more Merreikh but I just said I have European offers,” El-Hadary added. “I respect Al-Merreikh's management and I will hold a meeting with them on Monday to discuss my future with the club along with the European offers,” the Pharaohs goalkeeper announced. Recent reports linked El-Hadary, who joined Al-Merreikh in the January transfer window, with several Premier League and (second tier) Championship clubs. The 38-year-old goalkeeper signed a three-year contract with Al-Merreikh after ending a brief and unsuccessful spell with Cairo giants Zamalek.
