Shikabala will sign new deal in 48 hours, says Zamalek president Zamalek president Galal Ibrahim confirmed that Mahmoud ‘Shikabala' Abdel-Razek will sign a new contract within the next 48 hours
After months of negotiations, Zamalek seem finally close to extending the stay of the team's inspirational forward Mahmoud “Shikabala” Abdel-Razek. The flamboyant 25-year-old winger, whose contract expires next January, has been linked with European and Gulf moves over the past few weeks. "Shikabala will sign a new three-year deal," Zamalek president Galal Ibrahim told Ahram Online on Monday. The Whites' number 10 has reportedly agreed terms with Saudi side El-Shabab for a 3 million Euro, 18-month deal. "We didn't receive any contacts from the El-Shabab. They wanted to get in touch with the player who will be a free agent in six months,” Ibrahim added. Shikabala has given a scintillating performance this season, scoring 13 goals in the Egyptian league, claiming the top of the scorers' chart and proving himself the star of coach Hossam Hassan's team. The highly-rated forward has already signed a contract renewal with the former president Mamdouh Abbas but the new boss refused to complete the deal because of financial issues. “We have now the signing fees as we have received a lot of contributions from businessmen, and we will wait for the player's approval,” he concluded.
