Egypt won't bid for 2013 Nations Cup, says Abou-Reida
Egypt will not bid to host the 2013 African Cup of Nations, according to Egyptian Football Association vice-president Hany Abou-Reida

EFA vice-president Hany Abou-Reida said on Friday that Egypt will not bid to host the 2013 African Cup of Nations despite reports suggesting otherwise.
Egypt were widely expected to offer hosting the Nations Cup due to the ongoing civil war in neighboring Libya, which was going to stage the tournament.
But Abou-Reida, who is also a member of FIFA's controversial executive committee, refuted that possibility due to ‘Egyt's remote chances of winning the bid'.
“Like any Egyptian I hoped to help my country gain that honor but we are effectively out of the competition because we hosted the tournament in 2006,” he said.
“South Africa and Algeria have much bigger chances of hosting the 2013 edition.”
CAF recently moved the 2011 African Youth Championship, which was scheduled to be played in Libya, to South Africa following the revolt against Muammar Gaddafi's rule in the oil-rich country.
Egypt's security situation has been unstable since January's revolution which ended Hosni Mubarak's 30-year authoritarian rule.
The Egyptian Premier League is tarnished by constant crowd troubles, including the repeated use of firecrackers and pitch invasions. Last week, supporters of Ittihad of Alexandria stormed onto the pitch after their team suffered a last-gasp 2-1 defeat by Wadi Degla.
