Ahly coach praises players for late Ittihad win
Mabrouk believes Ahly players did their best during the 1-0 win over Ittihad of Alexandria in the Egyptian Premier League
Published in Ahram Online on 29 - 05 - 2015

After beating Ittihad of Alexandria 1-0 in the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday, Ahly coach Fathi Mabrouk praised the performance of his players in the face of the absence of key team members.
A 93rd-minute strike from youngster Ramadan Sobhi saw Ahly secure the match's three points.
Ahly keep third place in the Egyptian Premier League table with 58 points, 11 behind leaders Zamalek.
It wasn't one of Ahly's best shows as they are struggling with a serious injury situation and are missing six key players, but they are now back on course in their race for a champions league spot.
"The players performed well during the game despite key players' absence," Mabrouk was quoted as saying on the club's official website after the game.
"I admire the players' ability to play until the last minute of the game to get the points," he added.
Ashour to undergo scans
Ahly key player midfielder Hossam Ashour was pulled off early in the game, increasing the team's injury woes.
"Ashour sustained a knee injury during Ittihad's game and he will undergo medical tests on Saturday to determine his situation regarding the game against Dakhleya," Ahly doctor Khaled Mahmoud told the club's official website.
Ahly are set to face Dakhleya on Monday in a postponed game from week 11 of the Egyptian Premier League.
