Egypt's Mohamed Salah opened his Fiorentina account and created another goal on his first start as his side defeated Sassuolo 3-1 in the Italian Serie A on Saturday. The Chelsea-bound winger, who joined Fiorentina on loan until the end of the season, made his mark in the space of two minutes in the first half after making his first start, notching his maiden goal on 30 minutes before setting up Khouma Babacar for the second. Salah was unlucky not to find the net after 45 seconds when his shot from a tight angle was blocked by the keeper after he made a darting run. He made amends on the half-hour mark, running onto a superb back-heeled pass from Babacar to break clear and calmly place a low shot into the far bottom corner past the advancing keeper. Salah, who wears the number 74 jersey in memory of the Ahly fans who were killed in Port Said in 2012, kissed a black armband while celebrating the opener to honour the victims of another football disaster which saw 20 Zamalek supporters die after being tear-gassed by security forces before an Egyptian Premier League game last Sunday. The 22-year-old returned the favour to Babacar two minutes later, with his pass finding the Senegalese who swiveled and fired home from inside the area. Babacar put the result beyond doubt with a 62nd-minute strike before Sassuolo scored a consolation five minutes later, thanks to a goal from Domenico Berardi. Salah made his debut when he came on as a second-half substitute in Fiorentina's 3-2 Serie A win over Atalanta last weekend.
