Egypt's strong displays at the World Championship continue after their 25-25 draw against Sweden on Thursday.
The Pharaohs who had never beaten the European heavyweights were close to making history by beating Sweden for the first time but the experienced team succeeded to overturn their five goal deficit to claim a difficult draw.
Egypt made a strong performance during the game thanks to a heroic performance from goalkeeper Karim Hindawy who made many saves, and right-back Ahmed El-Ahmar who was named man of the match after scoring nine goals.
The Pharaohs remained superior in the first 20 minutes of the second half gaining a five-goal lead (23-18) but lively Sweden benefited from their solid defence to earn a difficult draw.
The Pharaohs, who secured a place in the tournament's second round, are second in their group with five points.
Egypt have claimed two wins in the tournament's so far after thrashing Algeria 34-20 before defeating Czech Republic 27-24.
The Pharaohs lost only one game against France 28-24.
The first four teams in each group advance to the second round.
