Hundreds of Ahly hardcore fans (Ultras Ahlawy) stormed Cairo International stadium Saturday morning, Egypt's interior ministry announced. Ahly is set to host Ivory Coast's Sewe Sport in the second leg of the African Confederation Cup final at 16:00 GMT (18:00 Cairo local time). Security authorities' had planned to allow 25,000 supporters to attend the game waivering a two-year old crowd ban in soccer matches. "Around 2000 stormed Cairo stadium in the early hours of Saturday," the interior ministry said in an official statement. The fans used a truck to break through one of stadium's gates to enter the premises, the ministry said. "All the legal procedures are being applied to handle the situation and also to avoid the existence of provocateurs among those who stormed the stadium," the statement added.
