Elmohamady wants to stay 7 more seasons in the Premier League
Ahmed Elmohamady talks about success in Europe - and why Egypt's media doesn't appreciate him

Egypt international winger Ahmed Elmohamady has expressed his delight with his spell in England – especially with Hull City – and says he hopes to play for seven more seasons in the "world's strongest competition".
In an interview with Al-Ahram Al-Riyady published on Wednesday, the 27-year old said he feels at home at Hull City and thinks his spell has been a success so far.
"After five years in England, I am quite satisfied with what I have achieved and I've been able to prove myself to the point that I've become a regular starter at Hull City.
"I am very happy at Hull City because I feel at home, all the players are my friends and coach Steve Bruce has a lot of faith in me. This is something very important for any player, especially in the European leagues," he said.
Bruce is seen as Elmohamady's mentor as he brought him to Sunderland in 2010 from Enppi and then signed him once again when he moved to Hull City in 2012.
"I have two years left in my contract with the club and I want to fulfill them because I feel comfortable here. But I want to stay in the Premier League for seven more seasons. Then I think I'll move on to play in the Gulf and end my career there. Many European stars have done so," he added.
A swipe at the media
The tireless wing-back slammed the Egyptian media for its constant criticism of him, claiming he is often underrated.
"I don't have a media backing because I haven't played at Ahly or Zamalek where you make good connections.
"I've been playing in the world's strongest competition for five seasons now – the Egyptian player that has featured in more games as a starter and the player with the best stats over the past five seasons and I am still always being criticised," he said.
Elmohamady has been a regular starter with Sunderland and Hull City in recent years. Last month he completed his 100th Premier League game, playing with Hull City against Manchester City.
However he has been often criticised for failing to reproduce that kind of form with Egypt's national team.
In his defense, Elmo – who has played 68 games for the Pharaohs – cited the different style of play and his tasks at Hull and with the national team.
A two-time African champion (2008 and 2010), Elmohamady will miss Egypt's decider against Botswana in the 2015 African Nations Cup qualifiers due to an injury.
