Newcastle's Nigerian striker Shola Ameobiadmitted on Monday he would be open to staying at St James' Park and would welcome a new deal. Several reports suggested that the 32-year-old, who will be out of contract this summer, will leave the club as the Magpies are looking to rebuild their team after a disappointing season. "I never say never in this game because I don't know what is going to happen next season, but it has been a fantastic 14 years for me here and I've loved every minute," Ameobi was quoted as saying by Sky Sports on Monday. "Yes, we've had our fair share of ups and downs over the years, but on the main I've been overwhelmed by the support and everything that has come with playing for Newcastle United." However, Newcastle's boss Alan Pardew hinted that the club are considering to prepare an offer for the Nigerian striker, who has spent 14 years at St James' Park. "That's something me and Shola and the Board will look at," Pardew added. "He's been an absolutely magnificent servant for this football club."
