CAIRO: The Ministry of Finance has approved the Ministry of Education's request to amend the contracts of 1,900 employees working on temporary contracts in the education cabinet. The decision means the employees' contracts will change from part four's “support, grants and social benefits” to part one's wages and employees' compensations, article 2/3 “seasonal wages.” Newly appointed Finance Minister Momtaz el-Saeed sent a letter to the Minister of Education Gamal el-Araby to inform him of the amendment's approval, beginning January 1, 2012 until the end of the financial year 2011/2012. There will also be a money transfer from the current financial year's general reserve, estimated at 4.5 million EGP. The finance minister said, “We will work on the stability of the psychological, social and professional situation for employees. There will also be procedures of appointment for these employees after the activation of article 23 of law 47 for 1978, concerning the country's civil employees.”
