CAIRO: Momtaz el-Saeed, nominee for Ministry of Finance in recently appointed Prime Minister Kamal el-Ganzouri's government, said the new government considers the people's demands concerning maximum and minimum wages. El-Saeed told Youm7 that the maximum and minimum wages are expected to be announced within the next month or two. He said he cannot deny the great effort by the former government to deal with this issue. He denied implementing radical changes in the terms of the current budget, pointing out that they will use any possible way to achieve spending demands. Considering the agreement with the International Monetary Fund for $3.2 billion in loans to achieve the budget deficit estimated at 134 billion EGP (U.S. $22.7 billion), el-Saeed said this agreement was ongoing but stopped due to the violent clashes in Tahrir Square earlier this week.
