CAIRO: Wasat Party Vice President Essam Sultan demanded Judge Abdel Moez Ibrahim, head of Egypt's election authority, take strict action against those who violate electoral law during upcoming parliamentary elections. During an electoral conference held in Sharkeya, Sultan said that undermining the votes is better than falsifying the will of people. Sultan added that Wasat Party is a political party, not a religious party, adding that the party does not preach. He expressed refusal of parties' use of non-neutral tactics in electoral campaigns, such as using religion to promote candidates. Wasat Party is contesting current parliamentary elections without support from any bloc, coalition or businessman, Sultan added. Sultan also said the part had asked Sharkeya residents to secure the conference from thugs.
