CAIRO: Prime Minister Kamal el-Ganzouri held a press conference at the headquarters of the Ministry of Planning on December 9, saying he was the only person who left the government without any honor or a job. Ganzouri said, “I was banned from speaking during former President Hosni Mubarak's reign because he said I was working for the public interest.” He also said some of the previous regime were trying to convince Mubarak that his suggestions would increase his own popularity. Ganzouri said there are unreasonable attacks on him because many of the young demonstrators do not know him well. He said he mentioned some of his achievements from his first stint as prime minister during Mubarak's reign because some people attempted to taint his image. He also affirmed his support for everyone looking for Egypt's best interests.
