Jordanian newspaper Alrai mentioned the Jordanian cabinet discussed importing natural gas from Iraq or gulf countries after facing difficulties about imports from Egypt. A governmental source said although the Egyptian government assured the attacks on the gas pipeline will not be repeated, the Jordanian government is keen to find alternatives. Jordanian authorities said Jordan suffers from a U.S. $5 million loss daily after the Egyptian natural gas stopped flowing to Jordan. Jordan depends on 97 percent of foreign power resources, 51 percent from oil and 46 percent from Egyptian natural gas.
