CAIRO: Some of the subsidiary commissions in the Cairo third district have finished sorting the votes from the recent parliamentary elections. The results were delivered to Consultant Assem Basyouiny, the chief of the General Commission. Walid Hassan, a consultant, complained of problems during vote counting including a lack of places to carry out the work. However he praised the armed forces and the police for securing the process. Individual candidates made preparations this morning for results to be announced. First indications reveal that the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Freedom and Justice Party is gaining a large percentage of the vote. In Manshyet Nasser and al-Gamaleya, the al-Nour Party and the Egyptian Bloc follow them closely. There is close competition on individual seats.
