CAIRO: Chief of the Supreme Electoral Committee (SEC) Abdel Moez Ibrahim today said that he was unaware of the decision made by the Chief of the General Commission to cancel or delay the vote sorting in the first district. “I did not issue a cancellation decision,” said Ibrahim. “I am aware of the Youm7 report and will soon take action.” Consultant Moataz Khafaga, head of the General Commission of the first district, cancelled vote sorting, judicial sources earlier reported. The decision was reportedly made after it was discovered that ballot boxes without red wax were left unsecured. The Commission chief left with some judges who feared that attacks would take place due to the cancellation of vote sorting, a subsidiary Commission chief said, who decided to remain anonymous. One citizen called on the judges to return from a microphone.
