CAIRO: The Cairo Security Directorate has assigned a female police colonel to help secure polling stations in Cairo's Nasr City neighborhood. The move comes in response to an order from Gen. Sami Anan, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces and Deputy Chairman of Egypt's ruling Supreme Council of the Military Council. Anan was inspecting a polling station in Nasr City and, in compliance with requests from voters for a female police officer, he issued an order to the Cairo security directorate. The security source said that the Cairo Security Directorate responded immediately and appointed Colonel Hanan Shokri to secure the polling station.
