CAIRO: Demonstrator numbers in Tahrir Square fell drastically on the first day of parliamentary elections and did not exceed a hundred demonstrators. People's committees disappeared except for the Mohamed Mahmoud committee, in order to maintain security. The remaining demonstrators in Tahrir Square were divided in opinion on the elections. One side is against participating in the elections because the military council has not responded to their demands. The other side believes participation in the elections is an integral step to democratic change and tried convincing others to participate as well. Outside cabinet headquarters, a number of demonstrators assured their complete disagreement to participation in the elections. They ensured the continuance of their sit-in until the Supreme Council of Armed Forces cancels their appointment of Kamal el-Ganzouri as Prime Minister. Traffic movements were normal and numerous street vendors appeared all over Tahrir Square.
