CAIRO: Ali Abdel Salam, mother of martyr Ahmed Sayed Sorour, today spoke with Youm7 while waiting for the arrival of her son's body at the Zeinhom Morgue. “My son wished martyrdom every day he went to Tahrir,” Salam tearfully reported. “Ahmed and his twin Amgad participated in the January 25 Revolution and Ahmed was injured during the incident at the Israel embassy.” “He considered it an honor for the sake of Egypt,” she added. She also reported that he went to Tahrir partially to protect girls from humiliation from the CSF. “God be with all the demonstrators and may God grant them victory,” she continued. “All Tahrir demonstrators are my sons; I call on them to not give up.” “Six CSF vehicles and an armored vehicle today came to the People's Assembly and attempted to enter, but were thwarted by demonstrators,” said eyewitness Ahmed Sayed Mostafa. “The demonstrators formed a human shield in from the CSF forces and some threw stones believing that the security forces would try to disperse the protest,” he continued. “Ahmed had fainted in the street from tear gas and when the CSF retreated, they ran him over.” “He was immediately transferred to a field hospital.” Doctors at the field hospital could not revive him and he was transferred to al-Mounira Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
