CAIRO: “Silent majority” coalition is organizing a demonstration in Nasr City's Sa'aa Square on Friday supporting the military council on grounds it represents popular legitimacy until the handover of power to an elected president no later than June 2012. The coalition called on demonstrators in Tahrir Square to take Egypt's best interests in to account, not to listen to those calling for actions damaging the state's institution and to "Heed God in Egypt.” The coalition said in a statement an investigation needed to be opened in to the death of young people in Tahrir Square. They asked for a review of all the clashes' footage to uncover the truth and punish perpetrators so as not to waste martyrs' blood, as has happened before. They added for the demands of the protestors to be dealt with wisely. The statement also said, "The silent majority feels Tahrir Square's demands are being imposed upon them. The demands are also not based on facts, intend to cause confusion amongst young people, discredit our honest leaders and overthrow the Army and police, leaving Egypt prey to the control of external forces." The statement said the silent majority would express its opinion and have no one speak on its behalf anymore. It feels some political authority must break up the protests in Tahrir and that revolutionary leaders must look at their consciences and not spread false rumors.
