Egyptian Revolution Youth Coalition decided to put on hold dialogue with the Supreme Council of Armed Forces until an investigation is opened into the violence that Tahrir Square witnessed on Saturday morning. They demanded to hold those accountable those who attacked protesters, local Arabic media reported. The coalition's decision came after their meeting on Saturday following the events in Tahrir where at least two protesters and two military officers who spoke out against the military council were killed. It is expected they would hold a press conference at noon on Sunday at the country's press syndicate to discuss the events of Saturday early morning and announce their plans for the near future. A member of the coalition told daily newspaper al-Dostour that “the coalition will call for an open sit-in in Tahrir (Square) beginning next Friday if the council is not swift in the investigation and the trials.” Egyptian activists on Twitter have reported that the majority of the people currently in Tahrir have decided to hold their ground until Sunday morning. Leading activist Salma Said said “the majority refused to open the barricades.” Later on Saturday evening she added that she is “convinced” that they “should open the square” but the majority present are against the move. Another tweet said that many of the activists have begun cleaning the square much like what occurred following the 18 days of protests that ousted President Hosni Mubarak from power. “God help us,” Said added.
