Egyptian governorates during the second revolution

Many Egyptian governorates were affected by Tahrir events and protestors in different Egyptian governorates held protests in solidarity with the Tahrir clashes.
Matrouh, in the western desert and north coast governorate, witnessed more clashes and riots yesterday November 23. Wine stores in Matrouh were robbed, damaged and burned down. Police forces stopped the electricity flow and shot fire in the air in an attempt to scare and disperse the protestors.
Dozens of rioting youths wandered in the streets of Matrouh, destroying restaurants and bars. They also tried to destroy a hotel, but residents confronted and chased them away. The rioters gathered in front of a cigarette store and tried to destroy it but residents once again confronted them for the second time.
The rioters also tried to break into the security directorate weapons store but they failed because people prevented them.
A security source assured the weapon store is empty. The army forces are coordinating with police forces to protect the governorate and face these thugs.
It is worth mentioning on Saturday night November 20, thugs tried to break into Matrouh police station when activists were protesting there.
Rioters took the chance of the withdrawing protestors and began their riots. Police forces confronted the thugs and rioters with teargas and gunshots. An 18-year-old boy was shot and ten others suffered suffocation.
In delta governorate of Gharbia, protestors tried to break into Gharbia security directorate in Tanta and Mahala cities. They threw Molotov cocktail on security forces, who then responded with teargas. The five injured included two soldiers and policemen, who were transferred to a hospital.
Clashes continued between protestors and security forces through the night. Protestors broke the general secretary building and burned security wooden booths. They also damaged electricity poles.
In the city of Mahala, thugs and protestors broke into the criminal investigation building and used Molotov cocktails.
People formed committees to protect their houses and families.
Another protest was held in the main square of the governorate opposing clashes, thugs and riots.
In Aswan, in the upper Egyptian governorate, the situation was calmer yesterday November 23 than all the other Egyptian governorates. The clashes creased and hospitals did not receive any cases of suffocations or injuries.
Revolution youth spokesman in Aswan said they will delay their protests until Friday November 25. People formed committees in the streets of Aswan fearing thugs.
The April 6 Movement in the governorate of Minya issued a statement saying they will not participate in any marches. They claimed the residents of Minya residents will participate on Friday November 25, delivering authority to the million-man demonstration.
April 6 assured that all their marches are peaceful in solidarity with the protestors in Tahrir.
Security forces and protestors in Minya clashed yesterday. However, April 6 and Revolution Youth Coalition denied their relation with these protestors.
Tribes in the governorate of Qena prevented protestors from organize marches to stop clashes with security forces. Tribes broke into the main square in the governorate and kicked protestors out of the square.
Dozens of Youth Revolution coalition in Qena organized marches opposing the violence against protestors in all Egyptian squares.
They changed their place of protest after tribes started attacking. Football fans of Zamalek Ultras joined them and repeated the chanting of slogans.
A member in the Revolution Youth Coalition Abdullah Maatouk said they changed the place of protest to prevent clashes with the tribes. The Revolution Youth Coalition announced their participation in the Friday protest in solidarity with Tahrir protestors.
“The most important demands are to purify the Ministry of Interior, form a national salvation council and exclude all members of dissolved National Democratic Party from the political scene in Egypt,” the coalition stated.
In the governorate of Suez, hundreds of Suez Youth Coalition, April 6 Movement and Suez protestors protested yesterday November 23 in solidarity with Tahrir protestors. They chanted slogans against Egypt's ruling military council.
In the second largest governorate in Egypt, Alexandria, director of the office of assistant Minister of Interior of the security of Alexandria, Mohamed Rady, was injured in his face during clashes yesterday November 23 in the region of Smoha in Alexandria.
Six injured were transferred to a hospital in addition to tens fainting as a result of inhaling teargas.
There were 18 political parties and movements in tents in Victor Emmanuel Square in Alexandria, including Al-Ghad Al-Thawra Party, the Free Egyptians Party, the Democratic Front, Al-Karama Party, the April 6 Movement and the National Association for Change.
Military police forces held a siege on the roads leading to the security directorate. They used teargas and rubber bullets. Many protestors were injured and suffered from suffocation.
In Ismailia, clashes resulted in two deaths and 19 injured.
The seven injured were shot by bullets. Clashes between police forces and protestors in Ismailia continued yesterday November 23.
