ARISH, Egypt: Director of North Sinai Security Saleh El Masry said an officer was martyred and another injured this morning during an operation to arrest leaders of the Takfir wal-Hijra organization in Arish. CSF officer Amr Ghadban martyred and Ashraf El Demerdash was injured by a shot to the shoulder. Security sources said CSF and the army moved to arrest one of the organization's most prominent leaders, who is of Palestinian origin. CSF arrested some of the wanted members of Takfir wal-Hijra in Sinai, seizing explosives, bombs, weapons and electrical circuits which were used to explode natural gas lines in Sinai. Police and armed forces surrounded the outskirts of Arish to capture the fugitive accused, whose name will not be disclosed by forces until he is arrested.
