Alexandria detective officers seized two vehicles carrying guns and live ammunition. A privately owned car and a truck were stopped in coordination with the Public Security Authority. The first car was driven by a Libyan youth. Many weapons smuggled from Libya to Egypt were found inside the car. Security forces of the Criminal Investigation Department in Alexandria Security Directorate suspected a car with “Libyan Jamahiriya” written on the license plates. Security forces stopped the car and inspected it. They discovered 30 pistols and 1,000 bullets. One of the defendants, Saad. A, 36, admitted to possession of the seized weapons. It was revealed that he was smuggling large amounts of firearms from Libya to Egypt to be sold to thugs and to rioters for the upcoming parliamentary elections. Security forces took the weapons into custody and filed a report on the incident. The prosecution was notified of the incident to carry out investigations.
