CAIRO: The exchange rate of the Egyptian pound (EGP) decreased against the U.S. dollar last week by 0.1 percent, bringing the exchange rate down to 5.968 EGP/1 USD, according to a weekly report issued by the Egyptian Information and Decision Support Center. Meanwhile, the value of the Egyptian pound rose against the Euro by 0.7 percent, to 8.118 EGP/1 EUR. The EGP also rose 0.3 percent against the British pound sterling to EGP 9.496/1 GBP. The Egyptian pound fell against the Japanese Yen by 1.1 percent to 7.736 EGP/1 JPY. The U.S. dollar increased in value against the Euro and the British pound sterling over the past week, but dropped against the Japanese Yen.
