A judicial source at the Supreme Electoral Committee said the committee is looking into postponing the issue of official candidate lists in the upcoming parliamentary elections. The source said the committee is awaiting the arrival of the opinion of the Mansura administrative court verdict, which banned former National Democratic Party (NDP) members from participating in elections. Youssry Abdel Karim, member of the committee's secretariat, affirmed that the committee has not received the court's opinion. Once the committee is aware of the opinion, it will execute the verdict as appropriate, he said. The names of former NDP candidates in Mansura have not been prepared, and the committee is not aware of them, said Abdel Karim. He also said that the committee is mitigating obstacles facing expatriate voting, and the budget allocated for expatriate voting has exceeded the budget allocated for the same process inside Egypt. When asked by Youm7 regarding indications that the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces would abolish expatriate voting, Abdel Karim said, "The military council will issue a decree to amend the last constitutional announcement to show whether voting for expatriate Egyptians will be cancelled or not."
