A judicial source in the Supreme Electoral Committee said that the verdict banning former National Democratic Party (NDP) members from running for parliament is not a final one and can be appealed by the candidates. The source said the committee would read the verdict's merits before applying it, which would exclude candidates who belonged to the NDP from political life. “The verdict's preliminary formulation ensured the exclusion of former NDP members who were members of the People's Assembly in 2010,” said the source. The source added that lists including NDP members, as well as those running independently, would also be excluded.
