Fear and tension confound Israeli politics and security officials today after security authorities discovered a plan envisaged by Palestinians in Syria and Jordan to march toward Israeli borders in remembrance of the Partition of Palestine in 1947. The demonstrators will take three routes to Israeli borders: from Turkey, passing by Syria and Jordan; from Morocco, passing by Algeria and Egypt; and from India, passing by Pakistan, Iran, Turkey and Syria. Islamic groups are planning for huge marches to Israel at the end of November, reported Israeli newspaper Maariv. Some organizations, including the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, are supporting the march, the paper continued. Israeli intelligence officials reported that the “million man marches” are scheduled to begin in Syria, Lebanon and Jordan, and head to Jerusalem on November 25. At the same time, an Indian activist is scheduling another anti-Israel march in March 2012.
