Two funeral processions for Egyptian double-agent Ahmed el-Hawan, known popularly as Gomaa el-Shawan, took place in Cairo and his hometown of Suez Wednesday. Hawan, 74, was being treated at General Intelligence's Wady el-Nil Hospital when he died. Hawan's first funeral march moved into the streets after prayers at Wafaa Mosque in the Cairo neighborhood of Hadaek el-Qoba. Hawan's body then arrived at Suez's el-Ghareeb Mosque, to be buried in his family's cemetery. Hundreds of people participated in Hawan's funeral. Army members, military police, and some leaders of Suez governorate waited for Hawan's body to arrive in Suez, which prepared for his funeral by placing a large marquee outside el-Ghareeb Mosque. Hawan's brother, Sayed, said he received many calls from political forces, parties and Gulf countries to organize a memorial ceremony for recognition of his brother's efforts for Egypt and Arab countries against Israel and the Mossad. Hawan's sons, Ahmed and Waleed, said he taught them how to love Egypt and sacrifice for it. The Head of Supreme Council for Armed Forces, Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, had decided that the hero's treatment would be at expense of the armed forces. Arabic here,
