British Foreign Minister David Miliband today praised Dr. Amr Khaled and the ‘Life Makers' organization for creating a strong and positive image of Islam. "Religious and non-religious, veiled and non veiled, both genders, all take training to serve their country, believe in democracy and draw a strong image for Islam with respect for freedom and choise," said Miliband, describing the participants in the Life Makers camp. The minister published an article in the Financial Times. He said Khaled asked him to visit Life Makers, on Lake Qarun in Fayoum, Egypt – south of Cairo – to meet 100 youth from the organization who were chosen to confront drug addiction and illiteracy. Milliband said majority of the young people he met were in Tahrir Square, the epicenter of Egypt's January 25 Revolution, in January and February. They are now going back to their work, schools and university, but remain enthusiastic about their country's future. Milliband continued by asking when Egyptians will trust in democracy. He said the answer should be found soon for Egypt to achieve real democracy.
