Coordinator of the Maspiro Youth Union, Rami Kamel, said the union would hold a meeting soon to discuss how to manage the crisis after Maspiro clashes. Clashes at Maspiro resulted in the death of at least 24 and injured more than 300 people. Kamel assured told DPA that all options are open and, “Our brothers' blood will not go in vain.” The union announced the meeting would be held after finishing three days of fasting called for by the Holy Synod to members of the Coptic Christian Church. This meeting will include discussions about the repercussions of the Maspiro clashes.
